Terms and Conditions
The agreement
These terms apply when you buy a Core Code product or book a service from Soal Design Inc. ("we", "us"), a Delaware corporation. By buying or booking, you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.
- You must be at least 18 to buy or book.
- Your survey link and report are for you. Do not share your link, because anyone with it can complete the questionnaire in your place.
- If a written proposal we send you for a service says something different from these terms, the proposal wins for that service.
Products
Our products (INdex and codeX) are personal reports built from your answers to the Core Code questionnaire.
- Digital reports are delivered by email after you complete the questionnaire. The report is only as accurate as the answers you give.
- Printed reports are made to order for you and shipped to the address you give at checkout. Delivery times are estimates. Check your address carefully: we are not responsible for orders sent to an address you entered incorrectly.
- Upgrades. If you already own INdex, you can upgrade to codeX at the price shown at the time.
- Prices are shown at checkout before you pay.
Services
Our services (consultations, couples consultations, and project advisory) combine a Core Code report with time from our team. What each service includes, how many sessions, and the price are set out in the proposal or booking page you accept.
- Sessions take place online unless we agree otherwise in writing.
- We do not record sessions without asking you first.
- You agree to give us accurate information and to tell us about anything in your home that affects safety, such as damage, mold, or work already under way.
- For couples services, both people take part by choice. We work with both of you equally and do not take sides.
Payments, refunds and cancellations
Prices are in US dollars. Any sales tax is shown at checkout. Card payments are processed by Stripe.
Services are paid in parts. Part of the price is due to book, and the rest before your first session. Larger projects may be split into more parts. Your proposal gives the exact amounts and dates.
Refunds for digital reports. You can get a full refund until you start the questionnaire. Once you start it, your report is being made for you, so we cannot refund it. If something is wrong with your report, contact us and we will fix it.
If you are in the EU or UK, you normally have 14 days to cancel an online purchase. For a digital report, you agree at checkout that we start right away, and that you lose this right once we send you your personal questionnaire link. We confirm this in your order confirmation email.
Printed reports are made to order. You can cancel for a full refund until we send it to print. If your copy arrives damaged or misprinted, tell us within 14 days of delivery and we will replace it.
Services.
- You can reschedule a session with at least 48 hours' notice. With less notice, the session counts as used.
- If you cancel before we have made your Core Code reports, we refund everything you paid, minus a preparation fee of 10% of the service price.
- Once your reports are made, the payment you made at booking is not refundable, because it covers your custom reports and our preparation. Anything you paid beyond it is refunded.
- If you cancel after sessions have started, you pay for the sessions and work done up to that point, and we refund anything you prepaid beyond it.
- If we have to cancel, we will offer a new time or a full refund of the unused part.
Your legal rights as a consumer, including under EU and UK law, are not affected by anything in this section.
What our advice is, and what it is not
Core Code uses psychological principles to help you understand how you live and what your home needs. It was developed with practicing therapists. It is not therapy, counseling, diagnosis, or medical advice, and it does not replace a mental health professional. Couples services are not couples therapy. If you are in crisis or worried about your safety, contact your local emergency number.
Our recommendations are ideas, not instructions. You decide what to change in your home, and you are responsible for doing it safely:
- We do not give structural, electrical, plumbing, gas, fire safety, or building code advice. Use a licensed professional for that kind of work, and get any permits or landlord permission you need.
- Secure heavy or tall furniture to the wall, especially where children or pets live.
- Check that any material or product suits your home and anyone in it with allergies or health needs.
- We do not hire, manage, or supervise contractors. Any agreement with a contractor or seller is between you and them.
Products from other companies. We may suggest products sold by others. We do not make or sell them and are not responsible for their quality, safety, or delivery. Some of our links to products may be affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission if you buy through them, at no extra cost to you. It never decides what we recommend.
No guaranteed results. Every home and person is different. We do not promise any particular outcome from our reports or services.
Ownership
The Core Code method, questionnaire, reports, templates, and website content belong to Soal Design Inc. or its licensors. You may use your report for your own home and share it with people helping you with that home. You may not copy, resell, publish, or use it to build a competing product.
Our liability
We provide our reports and services with reasonable care and skill. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim related to a purchase is limited to what you paid us for it, and we are not liable for indirect losses such as lost profits or the cost of building work. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
Law and disputes
If something goes wrong, email us first. We will try to resolve it within 30 days. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA. If you live in the EU or UK, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of your country and can bring a claim in your local courts.
General
- We may update these terms. The version in force when you buy or book applies to that purchase.
- If any part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies.
- We are not responsible for delays caused by events outside our reasonable control.
